Shankar, is former NHS orthopaedic surgeon and author, who only returned to painting after retiring.

He developed his love of painting at school, and continued to paint as a hobby throughout his life. After brushing up his skills at evening classes and online courses, Shankar went on to win first prize at Morpeth Art Gallery's Northumbrian Gathering competition.

Shankar recently joined The Tin Shed Studios and will be at our events again in 2022.

We first met Stuart almost a decade ago when he accompanied his artist wife Angela to our very first events. He hadn't started painting then, so we were delighted to discover that after a lifetime of being interested in art, he'd eventually picked up the paintbrushes a few years ago.

Stuart, who's from Morpeth in Northumberland, says he's now found his creative voice after developing his own distinctive style.

He recently joined The Tin Shed Studios and exhibited his work at one of our recent events.

Stuart will be joining us again at our pop-ups in 2022 to please visit our Events' pages for updates on who's taking part.

When Angela joined us again recently after many years away, we were blown away with her change of style and use of bold colours.

Working from her studio at Morpeth in Northumberland, she says she loves experimenting with different mediums and paints.

She uses colour to express emotion in her work, often translating nature's rich colour palette in a semi-abstract way.

Angela recently joined our online Studios and after a very successful first event with us, will join us again with her new work in 2022.

Please visit our Events' pages for updates.
