Textile artist Thelma Russell's childhood memories of picking bluebells, bird-watching, head-high bracken and the smell of wild garlic, along with her love of vintage clothing, are the main influences for her creations.
Her work is based on hand-made wool felt, usually finished with print and stitch.
"I love the simple process of transforming sheep’s wool into a strong, durable fabric using only water, soap and elbow-grease".
Thelma transforms the felt into book covers, spec cases and table mats, which are usually made to order. Most items are priced at £30 or less .
Thelma's main selling outlet is the Fleece Craft Shop in Reeth (Yorkshire Dales), where Thelma lives.
