Edinburgh-based artist Wendy Helliwell is largely self-taught, though she advanceed her passion for art on various courses at Edinburgh College of Art.

Her spirit for fashion, style and identity, remains sustainable in her approach to her mixed media work. She regularly fuses traditional materials with unconventional consumer-related things such as glossy magazines, make-up and even nail-polish. She also uses other throw away items in her 3D paintings and collages, including receipts, tickets and old clothes.

A keen environmentalist, Wendy recycles as much as possible in her pieces, particularly her 3D lips
