Fliss Elsom-Cook
Fliss is an abstract artist based in north Northumberland.
Known as Fowberry Arts, Fliss works mainly in oils, responding intuitively to the marks on the canvas. She takes her inspiration from music, literature and natural forms.
She is also stimulated by the overlap of intuitive painting and musical improvisation, which she often finds while playing saxophone in a jazz quartet.
Her paintings are bold and colourful, and many are open to the
viewers’ personal interpretations.
Fliss recently created two series of works - Rock Collection and Fruit Bowl Trilogy.
