Jo Hume

Jo's paintings are inspired by the wild Northumberland countryside and coastline surrounding her studio at Felton. She says walking in that landscape is part of her artistic process, where feelings and glimpses find their way onto the canvas in her own bold, expressionistic style.

Jo works mostly in acrylics and oils. She says paintings are steadily moving towards being more abstract interpretations of space, light and mood.

She has a master's in fine art from Newcastle University and has spent a lifetime in art education. Since retiring Jo has continued to dedicate most of her time to painting and teaching art.

Visits to her studio can be arranged by appointment and commissions, cards and prints are available on request.
