Twists Glass Studio
Michael Hunter's passion for glass started with an antique filigree marble he found in the school playground and his creative journey began when he left school and started work as an apprenticeship glass blower at Wedgewood Glass.
Michael, began experimenting millefiori glass and became spellbound with the intricacies of filigree cane work. He says that was the moment he found his direction". He now works in 24% lead crystal, with a recycle, reuse and remake policy.
He and his wife Sue set up Twists Glass Studio at Selkirk in the Scottish Borders 25 years ago. Over the years he has won many awards and was recently awarded the British Craft Fair Trade award for excellence. He has exhibited internationally and his is work is in many private and public collections across the world.
