winner of the Abstract Expressionist Comp 2016[5055].JPG

Alison lives and works as an artist in Durham City, which is her home town.

In recent years she's concentrated full-time on her art, taking inspiration from vivid and vibrant colours and how they work together to create a visual experience.

Alison takes the  same approach to whatever she's painting, whether its floral, abstract or a more general piece.

Usually working in acrylics, with added mixed media, she also likes to use household paints to enhance texture. Occasionally she uses oils and spray paints, sometimes mixing them and adding both.

In 2016 Alison was a winner of the Abstract Expressionist Competition with her entry ‘Let There Be Light.  The competition was run alongside the Abstract Expressionist Exhibition shown at The Royal Academy, London in the same year and judged by the Curator of the RA.

Alison has exhibited her work in a number of galleries and attends many of The Tin Shed's pop-up art fairs and exhibitions.
