Hilary Nunn

Hilary creates hand-thrown ceramics from her studio, Cornerstones Pottery, in Northumberland. Working on a traditional potter's kick wheel, as well as electric, her stoneware is designed for everyday use, glazed with layers of colour inspired by the local landscape. She describes her pieces as practical as well as pleasing . Useful, durable and beautiful - each piece unique, due to her loose style of glazing, allowing each piece its own character, while similar in form and colour tones to her collection.

Protecting the environment is important to Hilary. At her studio waste clay is reclaimed and worked back into production and glaze washings are collected, rather than poured away, then used to create her signature Mystery Glaze for the following year. She also draws on solar power to fire her kiln.
