Joanna Bourne

Joanna, a printmaker for 30 years, specialises in woodcuts, inspired by the local landscape and her garden in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

She says she enjoys watching the dog walkers out on the nearby Town Moor, as well as the birds and changing seasons.

"I also find inspiration in places that have a personal connection where my prints portray a memory in a time or place".

Joanna also makes collages using proofs of her woodcuts which didn't make the edition.

She has exhibited her work across the UK, including being selected several times at Printfest in Ulverston, where she was voted Printmakers' Printmaker in 2014.

Joanna is a member of Northern Print in Newcastle, where she teaches woodcut classes.
