Karen has worked as a fused glass artist for nearly 20 years after studying at Sunderland Glass Centre. Based at North Shields, Karen creates stunning one-off pieces, mostly in fused glass, but occasionally working with copper foil and stained glass. She also teaches and holds regular fused glass classes at The GlassHouse in North Shields.
Karen, who is a volunteer marine mammal medic, takes much inspiration for her glass work from nature, especially the beautiful coastline close to her home, where she spends a lot of time, either with her marine work or walking her dogs. Trees are also favourites of hers.
