Peter is a landscape architect and mixed media artist based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Inspired by the spaces between the natural and industrial landscapes of the northeast, his paintings aim to capture the relationship between the organic and the geometric, such as the feeling of plants growing through concrete, rusting metal or the patterns of coal dust and seaweed on the beach.  Peter says that landscapes are often seen as something "out there" that we visit, whereas in reality we create our own internal landscapes from the world around us. "We need to understand the importance of all places and scales, so we can better understand and engage with them on a personal level."
