Wanda, who is based at Redcar in the north of England, fell in love with painting and sculpting when she was a child, but it was only recently, more than 30 years later, that she picked up a paint brush again. She says despite being championed by her art teacher, her dream of going to art school didn't happen, because her parents directed her towards a different career.  Wanda says her creative voice lay silent until earlier this year, when her husband, who knew her story, bought her easels and brushes as a birthday gift.  She threw herself into oil pointing straight away, and her first painting was one of her husband and dog, as a Valentine gift. She went on to paint 35 pieces in just a few months. Wanda says "I feel free and fully myself when I'm painting. No time to waste anymore, I've already lost 30 years. For me, each painting is an anchor for the thoughts, it is a living testimony that no matter how long a dream is forced into the shadows, the path forward remains waiting".
