Rachel Meehan

Rachel trained as a fine artist (printmaker specialising in screen printing) 

After a number of years exhibiting mainly figurative work, she made a career change and spent the next part of her life working in project management. In 2017 Rachel began to concentrate on a new range of work, producing floral and bird designs, which she now does on a full-time basis. She develops them into prints, cards, gift wrapping papers and a range of other products.

The technique used involves working from black to white before the colour is added and each image is carefully and painstakingly hand drawn.  The pieces can take many days or weeks to complete.   

Rachel's inspiration comes from her garden, where perennial flowers are the focus. She selects her birds according to the colour of their feathers or the poses they hold when feeding. The bolder and brighter the better! 

Rachel is in based in the Scottish Borders near Coldstream and supplies a number of galleries and shops across the UK.
