Peter Wankowicz

Peter has been a landscape colourist/expressionist artist for about 20 years. Initially his work depicted corporate environments such as call centres and open plan offices (he refers to them as the new mines) where he worked as a data cleanser. His paintings captured the impact on the workers in series of highly charged "landscapes" of the modern corporate environment.

As an antidote to this Peter would often escape to remote rural locations for solace, freedom and peace. The beauty and the wonder of the forests, lakes and mountains soon became the new inspiration for his work. He can now often be found painting plein-air in all weathers the rugged wilds of the North, the tranquil beaches of the Northumbrian coast and the mountains of Cumbria.

Peter has exhibited across the UK and has twice appeared as a wildcard on Sky Landscape Artist of the Year
