Anke Sayn Rainbow set up Desayn after completing a silver smithing course. She now creates quirky, unique metal jewellery and objects, inspired by locations and landmarks.
Anke, a part-time teacher, creates her pieces with sterling silver and mixed metals as well as other natural resources she finds on the beach such as sea glass, sand and old pottery.
She recently added a gift and homeware range to her portfolio and her Tyne Bridge sculpture was selected to be included in a Time Capsule to be buried within Newcastle Cathedral for the next 100 years. Read more about this on our Spotlight On page.
Anke donates partial profits from her North East landmarks collection to local charities to support the homeless.
